1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) sets out the rules for using SiloLobby services. Our servers, networks and IP addresses are shared resources, so the actions of one customer can affect many others. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service.

2. Illegal activity

You must not use the Services for any activity that breaks Nigerian law or the law of any country where the content is accessed or the activity has effect. This includes, without limitation:

  • Fraud, phishing, identity theft or impersonation of any person, business or institution.
  • Activity prohibited by the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015, as amended, including unauthorised access to systems and computer-related fraud.
  • Money laundering, financial scams, pyramid schemes or unlicensed financial services.
  • Trafficking, exploitation or the sale of illegal goods or services.
  • Hate speech, incitement to violence or content that threatens public order.

3. Prohibited content

You must not publish, store or transmit content that:

  • Infringes copyright, trademarks, patents or other intellectual property rights.
  • Contains child sexual abuse material. Such content will be reported to the relevant authorities immediately.
  • Is sexually explicit, pornographic or adult in nature without strict age verification and lawful access controls.
  • Is defamatory, harassing, abusive or intended to intimidate.
  • Promotes violence, terrorism or self-harm.
  • Is malicious, including malware, viruses, ransomware, keyloggers or exploit code intended for misuse.

4. Email and messaging

You must not use our email services or any other means to send:

  • Unsolicited bulk email (spam), or email to lists you did not obtain with clear consent.
  • Emails with forged or misleading sender details, headers or reply addresses.
  • Phishing messages or messages that impersonate another brand or person.
  • Messages that breach the anti-spam rules of the networks they cross.

5. Resource use

Services are sized to the plan you purchase. You must not use resources in a way that unreasonably degrades service for others. This includes running cryptocurrency mining, unlimited proxy or relay services, scripts that run continuously beyond the plan's limits, or processes that cause sustained high CPU, memory, disk or input/output load.

We may throttle, restrict or pause a process that causes harm to shared infrastructure, and we will tell you why and how to fix it where possible.

6. Network and security

You must not:

  • Launch denial-of-service attacks, port scans or vulnerability scans against any system you do not own or have written permission to test.
  • Attempt to access accounts, data or systems belonging to another customer or to SiloLobby.
  • Run open proxies, open relays, Tor exit nodes or anonymising services without written approval.
  • Interfere with the normal operation of our network, including by spoofing IP addresses or sending malformed traffic.
  • Share login details for a Service with people who are not authorised by you.

7. Domains

You must not register or use a domain name in bad faith, including cybersquatting, typosquatting to deceive users, or domains that infringe another person's trademark. Registrations must comply with the rules of the relevant registry, including NiRA rules for .ng domains.

8. Reseller accounts

If you resell hosting, you are responsible for all of your customers and their use of the Services. You must have written terms with each customer that require compliance with this policy, and you must act promptly on any abuse complaint about a customer. We may hold you responsible for the activity of your customers.

9. Monitoring and enforcement

We monitor our infrastructure for performance and security, and we investigate abuse reports. We do not read your private communications except where required by law or where necessary to investigate a serious breach. We may take the steps below, in proportion to the seriousness of the breach:

  • Ask you to fix the problem within a set period.
  • Limit, suspend or disable the affected Content or Service, with or without notice where urgent.
  • Terminate the Service and retain or delete data in line with the Terms of Service.
  • Report the matter to law enforcement or regulators and cooperate with lawful requests.

10. Reporting abuse

If you believe a SiloLobby service is being used in breach of this policy, email support@silolobby.com with the subject "Abuse report" and include the URL, IP address, timestamps and any evidence you have. We review reports and act on them as quickly as we reasonably can.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The version on this page applies from the date shown at the top.
